“Hi, my name is Marten, I’m a sound engineer and for the past 18 months I’ve been driving around Europe in a rolling recording studio to record an album with the best street musicians I could find. I aim to give a platform to those that don’t have the means to share their talent outside their home cities, and to do this I’m creating a musical album and a full length documentary style film about this project. Originally, I only planned to record an album, but once I was on the road I filmed everything. 10 terra byte full of music, interviews, landscapes, joy, pain and how it feels to be a mid twenty dude that sold everything he had just to follow his heart and to record an album in over 25 countries.At the moment I spend most of my time on my computer creating a full length documentary about this project. Sadly I can only include a very very small collection of everything that I filmed and recorded in the final movie. Through Patreon I want to give you access to all of that material. In addition with your feedback and comments you will shape the final product.

Ich glaube, dass ein Album mit Straßenmusikern von über 25 verschiedenen Ländern eines Kontinents, die hauptsächlich eigene Lieder singen singen und dabei komplett außerhalb des Radars der Musikindustrie agieren, eine sehr starke Botschaft an diese Welt ist.

Ich glaube es zeigt uns, dass wir nicht auf die großen Bühnen und Fernsehsendungen schauen müssen um wahre Kunst zu sehen. Sie ist vielleicht sogar schon direkt vor deine Haustür zu finden. Denn manchmal sind es genau diese “Imperfektionen” die ein Kunstwerk perfekt machen.

“SoundsLikeVanSpirit” war immer eine persönliche Mission etwas Gutes zu tun und um wahren Künstlern eine Bühne zu bieten.
Leider, da es ein One-Man-Project ist, hatte Marten nicht die Möglichkeiten die Administration von über 50 Musikern zu übernehmen. Vor Allem da er mit Manchen bloß in Zeichensprache kommunizieren konnte und andere überhaupt kein Bankkonto besitzen.
