Festivalstalker: Wie habt ihr die Tour mit Hammerfall erlebt – was war für euch persönlich das größte Highlight?
TAILGUNNER: That was a killer tour. Hammerfall are amazing guys, their whole crew, TM and everyone down to the bus driver were amazing to us. It was one big marauding party of Heavy Metal fans! A personal highlight were the shows in Barcelona and Madrid, and exploring Spain in general. Those crowds were insane, especially in Barcelona, I can’t wait to go back.
Festivalstalker: Gab es einen Moment auf der Tour, der euch besonders in Erinnerung geblieben ist – vielleicht etwas Unerwartetes oder Lustiges?
TAILGUNNER: Smoking a joint in the Spanish mountains at 4am in heavy snow, that was pretty cool. As a Brit, I just thought Spain was hot – definitely not!!
Festivalstalker: „Midnight Blitz“ klingt sehr energiegeladen – was steckt konzeptionell hinter dem Albumtitel?
TAILGUNNER: The „Midnight Blitz“ is the band. It’s also the show, the night with your friends at the bar. Whatever. It’s about something big.

Festivalstalker: Inwiefern unterscheidet sich „Midnight Blitz“ von euren bisherigen Veröffentlichungen?
TAILGUNNER: Hopefully not too much, to be honest. We aren’t suddenly doing to do something different, but the aim was to get better and better, and you can really hear that on this album.
Festivalstalker: Wie lief der Songwriting-Prozess ab – eher klassisch im Proberaum oder viel individuell vorbereitet?
TAILGUNNER: It’s more individual with us. We don’t write in a rehearsal room. I’ll either write songs entirely by myself, or I’ll have ideas and team up with other people in the band.
Festivalstalker: Gibt es einen Song auf dem Album der euch besonders am Herzen liegt, und warum?
TAILGUNNER: „Barren Lands and Seas of Red“, because it took forever to write and changed a million times. It’s probably the song I’ve worked hardest on, so far in our career…

TAILGUNNER: Heavy Metal Mäyhem!
Festivalstalker: Der Sommer steht vor der Tür – worauf freut ihr euch bei den anstehenden Festivals am meisten?
TAILGUNNER: Sharing line-ups with Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Helloween. Doing that 4 years after we formed is insane.
Festivalstalker: Wie bereitet ihr euch auf Festivals vor, gerade wenn ihr viele Shows hintereinander spielt?
TAILGUNNER: The same as a regular tour. Festivals present a different challenge though, winning over a huge crowd like that, they’re there to party but they don’t necessarily know you, especially a new band like us, so we enjoy brining this hurricane of energy and taking people by surprise.

TAILGUNNER: Pure fucking Armageddon.
